Worlds End Music Festival 2012
A few points about Worlds End Music Festival 2012. It’s NEW. It has a NEW concept, it does not run to established rules. Don’t knock it until you know what it is. This has NEVER been done before. The Goals. To change the way festivals operate. To change the music Industry. To promote fair trading among businesses and in...dividuals. How is it done? Bands/Artists. First and foremost is the philosophy that everyone must win. (The music industry is on its knees). All unsigned bands that play the festival will be offered a 50% (YES 50%) Recording, Marketing and Promotion Contract. (Industry standard is 1-2%). This offer is also extended to any band that plays if they request it. All bands retain the rights to their own music. This is open to all bands/artists of all genres literally from around the World. All bands must submit an application form with a demo for the festival, the best will be selected for 2012, others retained for 2013. A-list bands are there to raise the profile of the smaller and unsigned bands. But these can only be booked and paid for upfront with ticket sales. (oh! didn’t they tell you that? These bands cost big bucks, the agents take a very healthy cut and you pay upfront not after the festival has run.) Who pays for these bands? The festival? The sponsors? NO you do. This festival is self funding. Which means It is being funded by ticket sales alone. It’s for the fans by the fans. If you want to make changes you need to stand up and support the changes. Each sponsor is being given a stage (by other festivals this can cost the sponsor up to 1 million euros) The vendors are being given their pitches (by other festivals this can cost 16,000 euros for a 3 day festival) this means at our festival the vendors can sell their goods at a much lower price, we make it a condition that this is no more than high street prices. The Beer will cost no more than at any Bar, 3,20 for 0,5l The band lists are not being published until much later. Selected bands are being profiled, but this is by no means all the bands. This festival is still being planned and organised, there are many things still to be put in place, this is the sole reason you don’t see all the information you want yet. We need YOU and we need YOUR support, how else are we going to make a difference? We are seen as a threat by both the music industry and the festival industry. WHY? Because we want to make it fair, that means that they would have to reduce their already ludicrous profit margins. Just because others laugh about this, does not make it unreal or a scam. It’s very real, ask our sponsors, do they really give support to just anyone (yes they all laughed at first too)? Or did we have to show them exactly how real this is. Yes actions speak louder than words and that goes both ways. It’s time to make your minds up, do YOU want this festival? After all it is YOUR festival. Thanks for your time. Mark. As said before email - - mark@worlds-end-music.com -- for anymore information you would like.
